Michael David Tinkler, 79, of Vallejo, California, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

Born November 19, 1946, in Valentine, Nebraska, Michael served four years in the United States Navy and worked 20 years as a civilian contractor for the U.S. Coast Guard.

 

A deeply religious man, he volunteered in his church choir and led children’s sermons. He also enjoyed Toastmasters and watching Nebraska Cornhuskers football.

He is survived by his sister, Pat Hein of Omaha, Nebraska; his daughter, Carilyn Travis and his four grandchildren, Rosemary, Emily, William, and Tommy also of Omaha, Nebraska. His parents, Joseph William Tinkler and Irma Irene (Fernen) Tinkler Yenglin, preceded him in death.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring. Michael will be fondly remembered for his faith, family, and community.
